After spending weeks immersed in researching Hadoop for installation, I didn't find time to breathe.

And now I just did, barely, so I was in Jeddah last weekend with my family, and I thought to try toDoorstep, after I became an avid user of Danube and Nana, I found out I have toDoorstep, and also realized it delivers to my parent's. Therefore I used the chance to review this.

I have no idea what toDoorstep is other than being a grocery shopping service, and because of how beautiful the br...

It has been a long time since I wrote one of those reviews,

We are preparing a good distinctive and special program for expert paid reviews, if you are interested please hit me up at twitter. @AliAlghamdi

As for this time, we are reviewing what's now becoming one of my favorite Saudi applications, a well-made application with very good support and awesome people behind it, who unfortunately I only know by names. But kudos!

So let's cut the introduction and start the main course.

Do yo...

This is a new week and a new review.

This week it's Alinma Bank,

I currently only use Riyadbank, Meem and Alinma Bank, so this is my final financial services application review.

This is a new design, around a year I think, and it's a huge upgrade from the one before.

I like Alinma's font to be honest.

Simple and clear login page, I don't like the yellow login button, it is just too shiny.

I love where the button to change the language is, and it's clear and easy to spot.

In our journey to find what's wrong with banks we are now investigating this very populated area that doesn't have any winners, as far as I know, correct me.

I have been a user of Riyadbank for the last 4 years or so, and honestly it's alright, there's nothing amazing or something bad. I use most of their services and I owe a debt I wish I can clear as soon as possible, maybe they will like this review and take it off my back?

Well anyways, banks in Saudi are restricted by a lot of rules S...

Earlier this year, I was approached by the kind people at Meem for a UX team lead, and unfortunately I didn't get a call back.

Anyways, as a task, I was asked for a quick simple review of their services. So I decided to share this quick review I did with you.

I tried as much as possible to shorten my notes, and not to dive in too deep in some aspects, and those are the main highlights of the experience.

I would be able to further explain, prioritize and target better points if I had the...

Dokkan Afkar is a very interesting online store, seriously well-done and always trying to keep in-fashion.

They sell what's considered "cool" and that clearly has been portrayed in their design. Now just to show how outdated I am with this store, this is my first interaction with this design, whether in laptop or on a smart device.

This takes us to their Android app. After tapping on the app icon in my Android launcher, I get their logo and then what I consider a one minute white break. It...

Hello humans of earth,

Our fourth review and probably the longest of another food delivery application, this week's application is Wssel.

Now I really have no idea who's behind this application. As one of the friends shared they have the same branding color of Foodora, which is probably an accident, since at least half the user interface is different. If you would like to check Foodora, do so, it's a German startup, their application is decent.

I actually like the design of the applicati...

I'm pretty sure you all are thinking this guy eats more than he works. Which I can say for sure it's not true, sometimes.

Anyways, this review subject is Jahez, I came across this when I was really hoping some app has the restaurant that I like in our neighborhood, but apparently they are too proud to use technology.

I remember opening it once, and it was really basic that I quit it. But since I am a person who rarely deletes apps, I came across it again, and to my surprise the app has cha...

Is Carriage the answer?

Carriage started in Saudi around 4-5 months ago I think, and it started here in Eastern province. I was happy to see a new competitor to make HungerStation step it up, although there were other competitors but HungerStation was really leading all around.

It's true that Carriage is a Kuwaiti but we are one, right?

Now let's not discuss the backend and supporting services of Carriage, but let's dive in more in their user usability.

As a start I'd say the applicati...

What are they missing?

Hunger Station has been my go-to online ordering service for the last two years I believe, the only one I used. Until Carriage came, now I use both.

Now, I'll try to ignore the service they provide, as someone might argue that it's CX more than UX, so I'll just talk about the application on Android, which is the one I currently use.

I would say the application lacks a lot, and that's okay, considering it works for me. But that's not why we are here, we are here to...
